Personally, I like Saigon, but my mother. The tooo hot.
I prefer to go to Nha Trang beach is beautifullll. ANNDD with a better diet.
I miss my cousins.
Bad luck-Ho Chi Minh is not the place for a vacation, because there is no beach!

You can at Nha Trang, there are also many places backpcker, Phu Quoc Island is a beautiful place and still some of the "virgin" of Vietnam are.
BUT: January is not good for diving at all - rough seas in winter, not so much to see!
